Dr. Stannard was raised in River Falls and attended the University of Minnesota Medical School. Dr. Stannard, his wife and two children enjoy the intimacy of smaller-town living—being better able to blend work, community and personal life.

As a family medicine physician, Dr. Stannard cares for all aspects of health prevention, treatment and managing illnesses. He is specially trained in primary care for children and adults to provide one-stop care for all ages and both sexes, including obstetrics and men's health. Special health care interests are men's health, sports medicine, dermatology, and performing office procedures with sensitivity.

He feels it's important that patients get to know him as a person, as well as their doctor. He recognizes that everyone has different levels of comfort in developing relationships, and works hard to listen, take your cue, and learn what your needs are for physician care. As with his friends and family, he ultimately hopes that patients will be able to become comfortable, relax and laugh.

My biggest goal during our initial meeting is to listen—to listen and follow the subtlest of cues of how I can help,` says Dr. Stannard. `My father is a minister, and I hope I picked-up on his fine-tuned skills for connecting well with people.`
