Dr. Johnson received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. He completed training in internal medicine at the University of Minnesota and served as a chief medical resident at the Minneapolis Veterans Administration Medical Center. He also completed his cardiology fellowship training at the University of Minnesota and was chief cardiology fellow. Dr. Johnson served a six-month heart failure/transplant fellowship and was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota prior to entering private practice. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease (Cardiology) and is a Fellow of the American College on Cardiology. 

Dr. Johnson's special interests and training are in the diagnosis and management of heart failure,
and the performance and interpretation of noninvasive cardiac imaging and diagnostic
heart catheterization.
