Hudson Hospital Birth Center among the best in the nation
Hudson, WI -- Hudson Hospital Birth Center is booming. Deliveries are up 11 percent this year and their nursing staff ranks among the best in the nation according to Press Ganey’s patient satisfaction data, which measures performance, experience and quality for the healthcare industry. Eighteen hundred hospitals contribute to a database that shows Hudson’s nurses rank in the 99th percentile for friendliness and attitude. That’s among the top 18 hospitals nationwide.
Overall, the Birth Center ranks in the top three percent of birthing units nationwide – meaning they are among the top 50 hospitals demonstrating the most exceptional care. According to Joanne Donhowe, RN, Birth Center manager, “Our goal is that every birth is a personalized and a healthy event for the family. We get coordination from all over our organization to help make that happen.”
Patients often share their enthusiasm and satisfaction with our Birth Center. A recent patient commented, “Every nurse I had was super friendly and really helped ease my fears. I was very happy I switched my care over to Hudson Hospital Birth Center.”
Marking a pattern of growth, birth center 2009 births were 473 while anticipated 2010 volumes are up and expected to reach over 500 births. Hudson is one of only a few hospitals in western Wisconsin to offer a wide range of services including waterbirths and vaginal birth after cesarean options. In August, a midwife joins three OB/GYNs and many family physicians offering patients access and choice for their maternity care.
