Outdoor Healing Gardens
A garden landscape is one of the key components of our facility design. The entry gardens, wrapped around the main door to the facility, allow visitors to experience healing before they enter the building.

The courtyard between the inpatient wings of the hospital invites visitors to a community garden featuring a centerpiece bronze sculpture by Minnesota artist Paul T. Granlund. This beautiful garden allows those who enter time to gather thoughts and visit with friends.

The winding sidewalk leads walkers to an outdoor labyrinth against the natural background of trees and hillsides. The labyrinth, in a Circle of Peace design, encourages participants to find time for quiet and meditation

Winter Garden
The Winter Garden is a Scandinavian design concept featuring a comfortable intimate space to relax and enjoy the outside views of nature. Warmed with hardwood floors, a stone fireplace, and comfortable furniture, this room is a perfect relaxation space for patients and their families.

The indoor and outdoor gardens in the Winter Garden change with the seasons. A vaulted ceiling, Andersen's designer windows and a handicapped accessible deck is featured for everyone to enjoy the gardens area.
The Herbert Ward family generously donated the front gardens of Hudson Hospital in memory of Charles and Yvette Ward, who were instrumental in the 1950's with building the first hospital in Hudson.
The Paul T. Granlund bronze sculpture was donated through a generous gift from C.R. & Cynthia Hackworthy. The feature is placed where patients and families may reflect and heal.
This inviting gathering space is a joint effort between Andersen Window Corporation and Hudson Hospital.
