This two-session “express” class helps parents prepare for childbirth. Class topics include: physical and emotional changes during pregnancy, labor, and childbirth; vaginal and Cesarean birth; birthing techniques; relaxation; comfort and breathing techniques; role of birthing companion; labor pain management options; mother and baby care; unexpected outcomes; working with your medical care staff; and special topics of interest to each individual class series group. Note: As an “express” class, the shortened schedule does not allow for as in-depth of topic coverage as the five-week series and access to guest speakers may be limited. The class includes a tour of the labor, delivery and nursery areas of the hospital.
Schedule: Friday evenings, from 6:30 to 9:15 p.m.
Saturdays, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. - April 9 & 10
