Do you have the knowledge and skills necessary to give care in an emergency, help sustain life, and minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness until medical help arrives? Hudson Hospital & Clinics offers American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid classes at various scheduled times throughout the year.
American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid
Lay responders will be taught basic care for injuries and sudden illness until advanced medical help can take over. Topics will include handling emergency situations, basic disease transmission precautions, and recognizing and caring for: bleeding; burns; muscle, bone and joint injuries; sudden illness; and heat and cold emergencies. This course does not teach CPR or first aid for choking.
This class is intended for business and industry employees (meets OSHA guidelines for First Aid), child care workers, and anyone who wants or needs the skills to provide basic first aid care. Upon successful completion of training, participants will be issued a two (2) year certification in First Aid from the American Red Cross.

- registration deadline is one week prior to the start of class
- a minimum of four students is need to conduct the class
